HON. MBARAWA ALLOWS VEHICLES TO PASS OVER CHAN'GOMBE FLYOVER

THE Minister for Works and Transport, Prof. Makame Mbarawa today approved the use of one part of the Chang'ombe flyover to reduce traffic congestion on Nyerere Road in Dar es Salaam.

Speaking before the operation of the flyover, Prof. Mbarawa has asked the Chief Executive of the Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS), Eng. Rogatus Mativila in collaboration with the Police, Road Safety Force to ensure that vehicles using the road comply with road safety traffic laws as construction is still ongoing in the area.

He said the use of the road will help reduce congestion thus, helping road users to have enough time to carry out their activities as congestion in the area is a waste of time for road users and the countries economy.

For his part, the Chief Executive of TANROADS, Eng. Mativila has assured Hon. Minister Mbarawa that the construction of the road which is the second phase of the Bus Rapid Transit Project will be completed in time without compromising quality.

Eng. Mativila said the entire construction of Chang'ombe flyover is expected to be in use by October this year.
